Every word on the web, one tap away
Select any word on any website and a FlexiLingo button appears — meaning, pronunciation, grammar and one tap to save it. On YouTube, TED, BBC and CBC it goes further: word-by-word subtitles and a full analysis of what you are watching.
See the whole thing, start to finish
Thirty-five seconds: install it from the Chrome Web Store, select a word on CBC, BBC, Radio-Canada, El País and Wikipedia and read it in your own language, then take a whole passage apart — every word sorted by level.
Two ways it works
Everywhere on the web, and a deeper mode on the players we support end-to-end.
Select anything, anywhere
Highlight a word or a whole paragraph on any page — a news article, a Wikipedia entry, an email — and a small FlexiLingo menu appears with two choices: Translate, or Analyze Text.
One word, four sources
Translate opens the word dialog. Pick your language pair and it answers from four places at once, with the audio to go with it.
- Google, an AI explanation, a dictionary entry and Merriam-Webster, as four tabs
- IPA, US and UK pronunciation, the CEFR level and the part of speech
- Full conjugation tables with audio per form, and gender where the language has it
- An example sentence with its translation, and Add to Deck in the header
Or take the whole passage apart
Analyze Text runs the full passage instead of one word. Every word is sorted into its CEFR band, phrases and collocations are pulled out separately, and Select all sends the lot into a deck — you can even create the deck right there.
In the player
On these platforms a FlexiLingo button appears inside the player. Open it and the episode becomes a lesson: word-by-word subtitles, a full analysis, notes, and an AI tutor that already knows the line you were on.
Everything You Need to Learn
What the extension does on the page you are already on — no copy-paste, no second tab.
Click to Translate
Select a word or a phrase anywhere on the web and a FlexiLingo button appears. Open it for the meaning in context, a dictionary entry and an AI explanation, side by side.
Native Pronunciation
Hear any word read aloud, in US or British English, without leaving the page you are on.
CEFR Level Detection
Words are coloured by difficulty, A1 to C2, and the episode gets an overall level with a breakdown of how much of it sits at each one.
AI-Powered Context Analysis
Context-aware meanings, grammar notes including conjugation and gender, and the phrases and collocations the episode actually uses.
Save to Flashcard Decks
Save a word to one of your decks in a tap. The sentence it came from and the timestamp are saved with it, and it is waiting in your dashboard when you next review.
Interactive Video Subtitles
On the supported players, subtitles become word-by-word. Every word is clickable and underlined by its CEFR level, so you can see the hard ones before you hear them.
Your Immersive Learning Environment
On YouTube, TED, BBC and CBC a FlexiLingo button appears in the player. Open it and the episode becomes a lesson — without leaving the site.
The Analysis panel breaks the episode into grammar, phrases, collocations and CEFR.

Study time, words seen, words you looked up, sentences — and the episode's own CEFR level with the share of vocabulary at each level.
Grammar, phrases and collocations
The Analysis panel breaks the episode into grammar patterns, phrases and collocations, each one traceable back to the line it came from.
Subtitle & Translation Panel
Word-by-word subtitles with instant translation, a note you can capture from any line, and a Sync control for when a site's captions drift out of time.
Ask Lena, in the player
Stuck on a line? Ask the AI tutor about it without pausing your flow — it already has the sentence you were on.
Distraction-Free Focus Mode
A distraction-free fullscreen mode, with playback speed, five-second jumps and subtitle settings in one bar.
CEFR Color Coding
Every word is highlighted by its difficulty level. A1-A2 in green, B1-B2 in orange, C1-C2 in brown.
