Hey there, BKFK kids! Have you ever played a game of hide and seek against someone who was so good at it, they completely outsmarted your best hiding spot? It's pretty amazing to meet someone who can challenge your brain like that.
Well today, Whizzlethorpe meets his match. The elegant vampire, Lady Seraphina. Today's story is based on a Sherlock Holmes story. It's called a scandal in Snaggleton.
The night was dark and stormy. Rain lashed against the crooked windows of Whizzle Thorpe, the wizard's tower, and a mournful wind howled in the chimney. Inside the wizard was alone, busy with an extremely important project.
A one, a two, a three and turn! Whizzlethorpe instructed, waving his hands at a pair of shoes that were sitting in the middle of the floor. The left shoe, a sensible brown loafer, took a clumsy step. The right shoe, a bright purple boot with a floppy tassel, shuddered and fell over.
It's no use! The wizard sighed, glaring at the shoes. This silhouette has no sense of reading whatsoever. I shall never win this snuggled on dance competition at this rate."
Just as he was about to give up, teaching his shoes to dance, there was a familiar knock on the front door. Whizzlethorpe's face lit up. It was stanky.
The little patchwork creature had finished his duties for Granny Gigglesnort for the day, which had included collecting moon dew and deslugging her prize-winning pumpkins. And as he often did, he had popped over to the wizard for a cup of tea and a chat. Stanky, my dear fellow, come in, come in. You are just in time to witness a breakthrough.
Stanky smiled. Good evening, Wiz. Are the shoes dancing yet? They are refusing to cooperate. The wizard grumbled, pouring two cups of tea from a kettle on the stove.
Before they could settle down for their tea, the front door burst open again, this time with a tremendous bang that made Stanky the Wizard and the Shoes jump. A tall cloaked figure stood in the doorway, a mask covering its face. The figure moved gracefully and, when it spoke, its voice was like music.
It was clearly trying to speak in an unusual accent. Are you the wizard known as Whistlethorpe?" The figure asked. I am here.
Whistlethorpe said curiously. And to whom do I have the honor of speaking? I am a noble man in great trouble. The figure said, stepping inside, it was a half-elf dressed in the finest silks.
My name is not important. What is important is that I need your help. I need you to find and return an object to me. It is a task that requires the utmost secrecy and cleverness.
Whizzlethorpe smiled, and knowing mischievous look in his eyes, he gave a small theatrical bow. We would be happy to be of service, Lord Elmsworth. The half-elf jumped as if he had been struck by a spell.
How could you possibly know my name? Elementry, my dear lord! Whizzled Orb said cheerfully, tapping the side of his nose. You have taken great care to hide your face, but you have brought your entire estate with
you. Your cloak, you see, is made of Sun silk from the Elven kingdom of Eldoria. A material so fine it is worn by only two noble families in this region. The Elmsworths are one.
He took a step closer. Also, your mask, while it hides your features, does not hide the smell of silverwood polish, famously used to treat the antique furniture at Elmsworth Manor. And finally, said Whizzlethorpe, pointing with the toe of his purple boot.
The mud on your own boots. It is not common snaggleton mud. It is the grey shimmering clay found only around the crystal creek, which, as I am sure you know, runs directly behind your property.
You came in disguise, my lord, but you brought your home with you on your clothes and your shoes. Lord Elmsworth slowly reached up and removed his mask, his face a mixture of shock and amazement. You were cleverer than I expected, wizards. He said with a sigh
He was indeed the famous half-elf from Eldoria Now that we have properly introduced ourselves Said Whizzlethub pointing to a chair. Please tell us about this object that you need me to get Lord Elmsworth sat down with a sigh
He took a deep breath and began his story. I am engaged to marry a princess from From Eldoria, an arrangement of great importance, but there is one problem. My memory crystal is currently in the possession of a most dangerous creature, the vampire, Lady Seraphina, who lives in her ancient family castle in the Moon Shadow Mountains.
A vampire! Rust stanky. Lord Elmsworth stood up and began to pace up and down the room. The memory crystal is a moment of foolishness from my youth.
A memory that, if everybody knew it, would be deeply embarrassing. My future bride would cancel our wedding. And Lady Seraphina knows this. She's using it to blackmail me.
Blackmail is when someone tries to make you do something you don't want to do by threatening to tell a secret about you. She is demanding a fortune in gold to keep it to herself. Whizzlepawp was immediately interested. He had her tales of Lady Seraphina.
She was said to be an extremely clever vampire, but not evil. The idea of her stooping to something as nasty as blackmail seemed highly unlikely. With suspected, there was much more to the story. A most delicate situation.
He muttered, stroking his chin. I cannot simply burst into a vampire's castle in the Mandakristo. Thank you my friend, I need a far more cunning approach. I will require a disguise.
The next day, Whistlethorpe and Stanky arrived at the gates of the dilapidated castle. It was a gloomy but beautiful sight with crumbling towers and stone gargoyles covered in ancient moss. Whistlethorpe was completely unrecognizable in his disguise. He was now Professor Fumblefoot, a famous admirer of rare treasures.
He wore a dusty old coat, a pair of spectacles that kept slipping down his nose and pushed a trundling cart filled with strange-looking tools and contractions. They knocked on the heavy wooden door. It creaked open,
revealing a magnificent hall. Dust lay thick on the furniture and ancient paintings hung
