The Good morning, this is Send7 World News in 7 minutes. I'm Juliette Martin and today is Tuesday 8th September 2026. Starting in Asia today. In Singapore, ministerial salaries are due to be discussed in Parliament
today. Singapore's political leaders have the highest salaries of any country. The The Prime Minister earns $2.2 million per year. North Korea's new defence minister Kim Sung-gi has said that joint military drills by South Korea, Japan and the United States are a provocation.
The annual Freedom Edge exercise began yesterday in international waters. In Bangladesh, 42,590 people have been hospitalised with dengue fever this year, according to the health ministry. One hundred and seventeen people have died.
