Iran and the United States attacked shipping near the Strait of Hormuz yesterday. The US claims to have sunk five Iranian oil tankers. Iran says that it attacked ten ships in the region and that it fired missiles at US Army bases in Jordan. This latest wave of attacks on shipping has caused the price of crude oil to rise above $100 per barrel.
