Meta’s New Glasses & Tony Gebhard Discusses His New AI Training Book ‘No Sight Required’

Now, Meta have announced these new glasses, simply called Meta glasses. Hmm, I'm stroking my chin, Sean Priest. Hmm, new glasses.

What's going on with that? Well, I'm just thinking right. So Google are about to come out with theirs. Snap came out with a ridiculous offering,

like over $2,000, no one's buying. But an Apple made out coming out with theirs. I think Samsung are probably about to announce as well with glasses. So it's going to get a really interesting space.

Meta are wanting to be in amongst it. They want to be in there and they don't want to be forgotten about. And so they've brought these new glasses, which I've got to say, are quite interesting for

one simple reason and you are going to like this reason, Sean, please. Yes, go on. Price. There's a great moment.

More affordable, arguably, I say cheaper. They are cheaper, not twenty dollars or anything. I mean, comparatively so, they are cheaper than the others. No, this isn't the moment where it's like,

when the Bose frames came out, and on Amazon there was like 1600 different variants, all at like a quarter of the price. It's not that, it's not that unfortunately.

There are two new versions, well three actually, but two particular new versions of the Meta glasses that have been brought out, the Adventurer and the Fury. Cool name! Sounds like mine.

What the fury ones? I'm furious. I want my glasses. Has they not got a grumpy pair or something?

Slightly annoyed. I do think you're ought to be grumpy while wearing them. I think that is okay. I'll check in with Zuckerberg,

but I think that's okay. I'll check in with Zuck. Now in Canada, pricing is gonna start at $409. In the US that's 2.99.

That's the new floor and it is the cheapest smart glasses that Meta have actually ever sold. But there is a rung up from that.

If you fancy, slightly more fancy pair, I know about these particular ones only because of your partner who sent me a text as soon as they were announced. I've realized that she doesn't think much of you to call and say, hey, Sean, I'd love a pair of these. Hint, hint. She sends the message to me for some reason,

thinking I'm going to buy her a pair. She's suggesting I buy them for my wife. Yes. But at the same time, I think she's kind of suggesting, you know, if you're going to buy one pair. Have you got this? Yes, of course. Well, she's, you know, firstly, that's leverage, Right? I mean, you know, Scots, Wife, Scotsome and I mean, yeah, yeah.

And secondly, it's because she knows that half of the stuff in my house comes from your studio. So there's a chance, you know, if the dog chews them up or anything. Yeah. I'm here. She's not, I found a pair of metal ray bands in the cupboard the other day.

I thought I really should, I should donate these to charity or something because they're just lying on the drawer. Yeah, there you are. Shoppreest, my personal charity. But these new ones are designed with reality TV star Kylie Jenner. Whoever that is. I want them. Apparently it's a celebrity. So, okay, we'll go with that.

I'm probably one of the few people that was quite excited when I heard Kylie. I was like, Kylie Minogue pair of glasses. No, it's Kylie Jenner. Showing your age.

Yeah, I know. Well, excuse me. She's very popular, apparently. Kylie Minogue is very popular as well, you know.

Yes, for a certain age gentleman. And lady. Wow. Kylie, if you're listening, I'm so sorry.

Minogue, that is not Jenner. I don't know who Kylie Jenner is, but apparently she is famous. I should be because she's got her own glasses. These are more a fashion thing.

I mean... Yeah, of course. a fashion icon, I believe. Yeah, exactly right. Yeah. So that is exactly why Sarah did message you,

because she was excited by this, because she's got other Kylie Jenner stuff. I believe we bought perfume back from our CSUN trip that time. Ah, yes. And that's the association she made.
