Thanks for joining us today. You're listening to Laugh Again with Phil Callaway. I can't remember a time when sports weren't a part of my life. I love watching, playing, analyzing, and offering advice to athletes on television who strangely never listened to me. These days I cheer for my grandkids in their swanky Spitfires uniforms. My first love was hockey, which in Canada is less a sport than a religion with frozen water. I learned to skate shortly after learning to walk and somehow still have most of my teeth.
Dig deeply enough in our garden shed and you'll find trophies from softball, tennis, hockey, and golf. Asked to choose a favorite sport though, I'd pick baseball and here's why. Every sport has a Hall of Fame, but nothing compares with Cooperstown, New York, a cathedral of baseball. Fans wander reverently through the National Baseball Hall of Fame as if touring the Sistine
Chapel only with more hot dogs. Three floors hold some 40,000 artifacts and a gallery honoring legends like Babe Ruth, Roberto Clemente, Hank Aaron, Ted Williams and three Robinsons Brooks, Frank and Jackie. None of them related. My grandson, Seth, hopes to join them one day.
