Welcome back to the Catholic Sproust podcast where we know that every day is a feast day. Today is September 25th, so join us for St. Sturgis, the boy who could not read. Little surges sat alone in a field and tears of frustration covered his face. No matter how many times his teacher explained it, no matter how hard he tried, the letters
on the page simply would not come together into words that he could understand. His brothers had learned to read so easily, and he felt hopeless. The young boy finally rolled onto his knees and prayed from the depths of his heart, begging God to help him.
Then, as he sat back, there suddenly appeared a stranger nearby. The stranger looked like a monk or an elder, but no one he had ever seen before. However, the man looked at him with kindness and gently wrapped his arm around his shoulders. Welcome back Sprouts!
