We hear pitches on the best vibe-coded apps

Welcome to the Bear Lair!* (No, it’s nothing like that other show.) As we continue to explore the world of AI tools and vibe coding, we invited a few enterprising Vergecast fans to share their projects — and we invited The Verge’s Hayden Field to judge them with us. We’ll see what people are working on, and whether any of them will make us fabulously wealthy. *We came up with this name before we became aware that someone else thought of it first... no relation to the APTNtv show Bears' Lair! Hello and welcome to the VergeCast, the flagship podcast of dubious investments. I'm your friend David Pierce, and today on the show, we're doing a fun new thing. So we've talked a lot about vibe coding on this show over the last several months. I think it's one of the biggest trends in technology right now. I think it's funny and
silly to play with myself as somebody who is frankly a coding novice. I can code you like the heck out of an HTML website and that's kind of it. But I also think there is something important about the first way in which AI has really found product market fit. We've talked about it, we've done experiments,
but then Travis Larchock, our producer, had an idea, which is why don't we see who else in the world, which VergeCats viewers, which VergeCats listeners, which of the people in our orbit have been making cool stuff?
That was the opening. The rest of the episode (55 min) is in the player: every word clickable, with translation, saved words and flashcards.
