With an update from CK News Today, I'm Tamara Thornton. This news is brought to you by AutoMotion, 505 Richmond Street in Chatham. A devastating overnight fire has caused $1 million in damage to a local restaurant. Firefighters responded to Mike's place just after two this morning.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Restaurant owner Brenda Buckler says it started at the bar area of the establishment. She adds that the fire marshal will be on scene this afternoon. In light of the news, Buckler says they have plans to rebuild,
but right now they're focusing on their staff. A Chatham woman has been arrested in connection to a violent home invasion that happened last month. CK police say a group of people forcibly entered a home just before midnight on August 10th where they assaulted and threatened several people and stole property.
