- One speaker
- Technology
In this episode of the Celebrate Kids Podcast, Dr. Kathy Koch and Wayne Stender explore how parents can delay phone access without leaving kids unprepared for the technology filled world around them. They discuss building gratitude, discernment, real conversation skills, and other-centeredness during the phone free years, while also recognizing the genuine social pressure kids can feel when friends communicate primarily through devices. Parents will be encouraged to keep evaluating their decisions and gradually introduce technology in ways that strengthen character and real relationships.

it captures the tension I think that a lot of us as parents are experiencing. And I have to admit this parent has written us now twice asking us to talk about this. exact issue that she has. She writes, quote, My daughter's friends have phones. My husband and I want to protect her from all the potential danger that come from using phones, from using this device. We teach that the phone is a tool and not a toy. We've shared that we're not ready for her to have access to this tool. We have discussed how everything is not true online
