Welcome to your two-minute tip, a short practical English lesson for your busy day. Learn it in two minutes. Use it for years. Here's a mistake I hear all the time. Don't say, I'll explain you the rules.
But in English, explain is never followed directly by a person. Instead, say, I'll explain the rules to you. Or, let me explain the process to you. She explained the problem to me.
So we explain something to someone. There's also another very common way to use explain, and that is explain plus that and a subject and verb. For example, he explained that the meeting had been canceled.
That was the opening. The rest of the episode (2 min) is in the player: every word clickable, with translation, saved words and flashcards.
