Hello there and welcome to Focus on Africa. I am Keiichi Ubuuna. Investigations are ongoing following the deaths of 37 artisanal miners in Nigeria's north central Niger state, with authorities arresting the security officials in charge of the detention center where they died. We hear from some of the survivors.
I survived that cell only by the grace of God. It felt like they wanted all of us to die there. If we had known we were going to die in that cell, none of us would have entered it.
And from underground bits to international stages, Morocco's urban music is reaching new audiences beyond the country. We hear from some of the artists behind the sound at this year's Casablanca Boulevard Festival. When I was like 15 or something, I realised that my great-grandma was from Mali.
That was the opening. The rest of the episode (22 min) is in the player: every word clickable, with translation, saved words and flashcards.
