Welcome to Rslash Am I the Jerk, where Karen is demanding to name OP's son. My Karen mother is demanding I name my baby following the family tradition. My wife and I, both in our late 20s, had our first baby together in June. Before he was born, there was a lot of talk about names from different family members
on both sides, but the pressure to reveal the name was mostly on my side. We didn't tell us so what the name would be until our son was born and we had left the hospital. My parents were disappointed when we announced our son's name.
My family is very traditional when it comes to naming. Each of us was named after grandparents, and that's how they feel everyone should name their kids. My wife's family doesn't have any traditions when it comes to naming the babies.
That was the opening. The rest of the episode (32 min) is in the player: every word clickable, with translation, saved words and flashcards.
