Good morning, I'm Willie Lowry. Alberta has launched a new bid to ship oil to the Pacific Coast premiered Danielle Smith and Prime Minister Mark Carney unveiled the plan late yesterday in Calgary.

The mega project is designed to move over a million barrels of bitumen per day to an export hub near Vancouver. Construction could start late next year. Business reporter Anise Hidari has the details.

Following the existing Trans Mountain Pipeline Corridor, this project builds on existing infrastructure. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith with long-awaited details on the path, her government says a new oil pipeline should take,

from near Edmonton to Southwest BC. Functionally, going through Northern BC stopped being an option after a deal between that province and Ottawa maintained a tanker ban at the North Coast. Southern route had key advantages of using an existing pipeline route, existing established

relationships with the Indigenous partners and potential partners along that line, as well as the ability to reduce the amount of time to get it to market. And on the eve of the Calgary Stampede, the private sector has hopped in the saddle. Pembina Pipeline Corporation will hold a 10% interest in the new pipeline at first,

which may hit a key demand of Prime Minister Mark Carney. What Pembina is bringing is expertise, capital discipline. I mean, they're renowned for their capital discipline. I'm not entirely sure that you can call Pembina a private proponent.

I think they're definitely a junior partner in terms of ownership stake. Ken Fellows is an economist at the University of Calgary's School of Public Policy. But if we view infrastructure as sort of this base or foundation for well-functioning markets, There is an argument that government intervention here does make a little bit of sense.

According to documents submitted to the federal major projects office, Alberta is estimating the pipeline could cost at least $35.2 billion. At the low end, it's expected to take at least six years to build, maybe longer. Anis Hadari, CBC News, Calgary.

International delegates are arriving in Tehran to pay their respects to Iran's former supreme leader. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in late February during an airstrike on the first day of the war in Iran. CBC's Crystal Gamman Singh has details from Jerusalem.

Images projected to the world showing internal support for a regime that a month before the Supreme Leader was killed conducted a fierce and deadly crackdown on

These new images combined with a witness statement obtained on the evening of the incident from someone who had interacted with the suspect, led investigators to focus on a woman who appeared to have disguised herself as a man. Germany. A CBC investigation has uncovered widespread evidence of ticket speculation on the resale website StubHub. Brokers are selling seats before they're even released to the public.

We were five hours before kickoff and found out we weren't getting tickets. He didn't realize it at the time, but he'd bought his tickets off StubHub

even before FIFA had released the seats. I bought tickets before tickets were even for sale. And so I clearly bought ghost tickets. CBC has found Stubhub ads from 2024,

offering tickets for sale a full year before they were issued by FIFA. Stubhub says it doesn't allow speculative tickets. Well, I mean, I think it's a flat out 100% why.

Ticketing executive Scott Friedman says, just look online, seats for next year's Super Bowl, not yet released are already on resale websites. 99% of those tickets are speculative tickets

that are posted before the actual on sale happens. Stubhub insists speculation is against its rules, but in a statement concedes,
