Hideki Tojo, a senior military officer who was Prime Minister of Japan from 1941 - 1942, as well as Minister for the Army, had advocated for Japan's alliance with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, and for the bombing of Pearl Harbour, which launched Japan into WW2.
