Hello everyone and welcome to Episode 136. Today's show is going to be particularly cool and gnarly, as we're beginning our deep dive into the superorder Holomatabola. These are the insects that undergo complete metamorphosis, rapidly and radically changing
their body as they transition from larva to adult. Now in today's show, we're going to begin our exploration of the evolution, anatomy, cycle and ecology of the various orders within hollow metabola. In the next few episodes, we'll be exploring all the biodiversity that was produced thanks
to the benefits and advantages of complete metamorphosis. This will take us all the way through the next and final part in this three-part megaseries on the insects, and of course, we're going to start with the oldest branch, with the most basal offshoot of the clade.
