Along with its population explosion, Arizona in the 1950s dealt with the proliferation of cars on its roads and highways. As part of its efforts to keep up, the state would upgrade one particular highway that became a paved connection between the Valley of the Sun and the Rim country to the north.

I like camping. A lot. I don't get to do as much as I would like nowadays, but I've always enjoyed sleeping in a tent, hiking, splashing in creeks, and eating food around a campfire that maybe had a considerable amount of dirt baked into it. past scouting groups, both as a boy scout and as a leader. Just a few weeks ago I got together with family and we left the Valley of the Sun to spend a night in the forest, which was a fantastic getaway. And even though each trip is unique, a lot of them all tended to funnel through one particular spot, including that camping trip I just mentioned.
