Not enough time, not enough energy, not enough patience, not enough focus, not enough emotional bandwidth. Just not enough of me. Maybe it hit you at the kitchen sink, hands in dishwater, staring out the window, at nothing in particular. Maybe it hit you. Maybe it hit you in the carpool line with the engine running,
and you were waiting for a kid who's always just three minutes later than you have enough patience for. Maybe it hit you at 11 p.m. when you were finally sitting down for the first time all day, and someone in the house picked that exact moment to ask you one more question.
