Hi guys, I'm Ben and welcome to today's English podcast. On today's episode, we're going to take a look at some collective nouns for groups of animals. Now, if you listened to Monday's episode of Parle Anglais, you might have heard me refer to a group of geese as a flock of geese. If you're unsure what geese are, well, geese is the plural word for goose and a goose is a large bird with a
long neck that lives near water. If you're still not sure, have a look online to see what the word means in your language, goose. So we say a flock of geese. A flock is a collective noun. It's the name we use for a group of geese. Instead of saying a group of geese, English speakers usually say a flock of geese. And there are lots of collective nouns for animals in English. And some of them
are quite unusual. I'm going to ask you to memorize some of these. See if you can remember them, because I'll give you a little test a bit later. Let's take a look at some examples of collective nouns for groups of animals. So let's begin with cows. A herd of cows. A herd. H-E-R-D. next wolves we say a pack of wolves a pack of wolves next we have fish a school of fish
