If you or a loved one has ever been a victim of an online scam, the chances of you being scammed again are very, very high. Here's why. I'm Kim Commando for ExpressVPN.

With one click, ExpressVPN keeps your online activity private and secure. Get four extra months at expressvpn.com slash Kim. It's true. The FBI is specifically warning that cyber criminals are now impersonating agents and

employees of the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center. Scammers maintain and trade lists of prior victims. names the fraud they fell for and the amount lost. They've found that those who previously gave up information

that allowed a criminal to scan them online or over the phone are the best targets for another fraud attempt. The retargeting scheme begins with the cybercriminal claiming that the FBI has recovered the victim's lost money.

Or they say that the victim can help them recover it. All you have to do is pay a so-called fee and don't fall for it. If your money has been recovered, no one's going to ask for a payment to get it back. Get my free newsletter at GetKim.com.

You heard it from Kim. Scammers keep lists of their victims and they come back for more. Up next, Kim will explain the FBI program tracking crypto scams in real time and go over some of the warning signs that most people completely miss before it's too late.

Stick around for more on that next. The FBI is personally calling folks who are falling for crypto scams. They have a new program called Level Up. So far, about 4,500 people across all 50 states, 76% had no clue that they were being scammed.

So if you get a call, the FBI is not going to ask you for money or tell you to move yours. They're just going to say you are being scammed. So how do they know that you're being scammed? Well, they've been turning to social media companies and crypto firms,

following the money backwards in order to find the victims, which begs the question, why can't the social media companies stop it? No, they're too busy. And the crypto companies just stop it

now that we have the FBI going through the back door. They're too busy. They got so many things to do. I mean, look at Twitter and Facebook and Instagram.

They're busy. They can't protect us. You know, I remember that guy who called me probably maybe even a year ago now.

And he wanted to know if he was getting scammed. And he was on Facebook. This woman DM'd him and said that she had an aunt who was really good at cryptocurrency.

and if he would just give them $500, the aunt would prove. They had to go to WhatsApp. He gave them the $500. They turned it into $1,500, and he was getting,

wow, this is great, just a few days. Sure. Turned it into $5,000, just a few days. Long story short, he had given them $80,000,

and they were asking for another $20,000, and he wanted to know if he was getting scammed. So I gave him all the signs that he was getting scammed, and he didn't want to believe me well they were showing him proof of the returns but the proof

actually was all simulation yes composites that they made up to prove and he would be able to lock in as the interface they created but it was all fake exactly exactly what is that called there's a name for that pig butchering that's it and i said to him i said and when he didn't want to believe me i said you are a pig and you're getting butchered he still didn't believe me still

didn't believe. I got a Nadia that reached out to me on Facebook. She was a crypto expert. She was going to do the same thing for me. She's very attractive. I was going to say, was she hot? Yeah. They were always hot. I mean, I talked to her for a little bit. Okay. Okay. Admit it. You love me. Yes. Say it out loud. I love Kim Commando and you can get more of me

in a few ways. Number one, join a million folks who get my newsletter every single day. It's free. It's called The Current and just sign up over at GetKim.com. But as they like to say on infomercials, but wait, there's more. This is really fun.

There's new sets, there's new bookshelves, and this one I'm going to love. Yeah, new lighting up to and including a glow light. I didn't know what that was until the lighting guy said, everybody in the universe has one but you. Apparently, it's a light that is on the floor that shines up that makes you look stunning.

I told them I didn't care how much it cost. I wanted it. And if you're more into podcasts, well, you can find me everywhere you get your podcasts. Just search for Commando with a K, of course.

That's K-O-M-A-N-D-O. And if you have any questions for me or if you want to share a story that happened in your life, I'd love that. Just go to commando.com. I know there's so many commandos.

K-O-M-A-N-D-O. Commando.com. And then there's a big button on the top right. It says, ask Kim.

I know. Funny how some things work in tech. Fill out that form, and I read every single note that she sent me. So thanks for being here.

Thanks for supporting everything that we do. Because otherwise, I don't know. I'd probably have to do the show for my son. And you know, he's a Gen Z-er.

He'd do it once just to be nice. But after that, I'd be like, hey, mom, you need to go find an audience. He would.
