Well, here we are. Hold up in my hotel room. We've had a week and I think people might work that out because we do the tech show as well. It'll be up here and there's no video.
And we mentioned last week we're traveling, but Jesus Christ. Why have we crammed so much into this week? So in the space of five days, we've come back from London, flew back from London. Oh, that's true.
So let's talk us through. Saturday morning, 6am, we land from London after the Samsung event. So we're home for one night. I see Victoria playing netball.
Yep. And then Sunday afternoon, we fly up to Ballina with, as I guess, a BMW. Yep. And what do we do?
The iX3. iX3. Drive the new iX3. Which is a car.
And again, our core audience might remember us. We went to Spartanburg. We talked about a bit of that. In North Carolina, that is.
Yeah. We saw a lot of different things about this car over years going back to CES. It's a very important car for BMW. So we drove that on Monday.
So we went to like a resort on Sunday night and had a lovely dinner and then drove the BMW all day. We were lucky enough to have a car reach, so we got to put up with you. I had to see Trevor fanging it out in front of me,
thinking he was a race car driver. Then we flew home from the Gold Coast on Monday night. Monday night, yeah. Delayed return home.
Had Tuesday at home because I did radio and the podcast. And then Wednesday, today, we flew to the Gold Coast again and we drove Stephen's new car, the Mercedes-Benz CLA 350. We can't tell you anything about how good the car is or bad the car is.
I've already put my money down, so yeah. Can I say that I'm glad about that or not? No, you can't. Can't I?
You definitely can't say that. Forget I said that. So inside baseball, right? And this is much more prevalent in car events than in tech.
In tech, you hear about a product and then you might have a product to review over a few weeks. But in the car world, it's weird because you might, by the time you listen to this show, you might have seen on our Instagram photos of this car. You're allowed to take photos, show pictures of the car because it's been released.
Some people are driving them already. Some people are already delivered, yeah. But your reviews, your drive impressions is what they call them. Although they said drive impressions, news and something else.
Anyway, but basically, so what we think, how will it handle? what it's like to drive. It's under embargo until August the 6th. And that's the same for the – it's a different date,
but it's the same for the BMW. We can't tell you what we think of driving it. Yes, that's right. So we've got a busy week next week.
But that's the way car events work. Again, so that all the journos here can sort of get back to their office and spend some time writing their reviews, editing their videos, whatever they want to do.
And so we get back on Thursday night. And then next week, again, is abnormal because we've agreed to another car thing on another electric car thing on Wednesday morning. We're going to record all our shows late on Wednesday
before flying to Perth. We can't say 100% why yet because I haven't seen flights. And until I see flights, and probably I want to get contract signed as well just quietly.
I'm a big stickler about getting companies. Won't get out of bed for less than you know how much. Well, I'm very – having gone through some experiences in the last two years with, shall we say, not disagreements,
but, you know, just things not maybe being paid because it didn't – Really? Anyway, I'm now big on – no, you'll sign this, please. Thank you very much.
But I'm kicking myself that I haven't done that yet. But anyway, so we're going to do another sponsored episode next week, which will land Sunday week. It'll be Sunday the – I'm going to say 9th, I feel like.
Yeah, 9th. Yep. August. Sunday the 9th of August likely.
A pretty cool episode of Two Blokes Talking Tech. Yeah, film and audio. Film and audio. Video and audio, yep.
From another state of Australia. Yes. talking about something very interesting. The Two Blokes Roadshow.
And then I think we've got three weeks of normality before I head off to Aoife and then my family holiday. So it's action-packed. Because Stephen's having to do a shit ton of work,
if I'm honest, on the movie show because it takes the effort to put all the script together. When we say script, by the way, we don't mean everything we say.
It's a run-through of the movie and it cuts up all the audio and stuff. And we're basically doing two movies a week at the moment so that we can get through.
going to accommodate Trev's family holiday. Well, because he can't – you can bring Val Quinn in on Two Blokes Talking Tech for three weeks. That's what's going to happen, by the way.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's fine. We've agreed on that. He's off the bench.
You've got to find some – imagine trying to find someone else who hasn't seen all these movies. Yeah. It's basically difficult.
Maybe your son can step in. He hasn't watched many movies. Maybe Jackson can fill in for you. While we're on holidays.
He's with you. But he comes back earlier than me. Oh, okay. Might get in.
That would be funny. That would be hilarious. Anyway, so yeah, it's a weird time. I will – it doesn't matter because she doesn't listen,
but my wife is being very understanding of this at the moment, you know, because we've been away a bit. Yeah. We've been to London a couple of times.
Yeah. She's like, when are you back? I'm like, tomorrow night. She's like, okay, bye.
So she's aware, and it's on the family calendar and stuff. So my family put up – Trevor and I have spent more time with each other than we have with our own wives in the last couple of weeks.
Yeah, 100%. Yeah. Without question. Which is, yeah.
Sad in a way, isn't it? That's a bit sad. Anyway. But luckily we get on, mate.
Luckily we work it on these podcasts. Yeah, although Stephen had a fantastic idea and we should find a way to do it, which is to film just our idiocy.
There's a part of it which is real, which we might incorporate into the EV show in the future. But outside of that, we should,
